Tom Dabernig aiming for The Showdown success before leaving Lindsay Park

Tom Dabernig is eyeing off three potential training bases as he splits from Lindsay Park, but is first eyeing off a win in Saturday’s $950,000 The Showdown with highly-rated two-year-old colt Finance Tycoon.

It was announced last month the training partnership between Dabernig and Ben Hayes would end and Dabernig would establish his own stable in the new racing season.

Those plans have now firmed up to some extent.

“I’ve been talking with Mornington, Geelong and Warrnambool as they are the three places you can access the beach,” Dabernig said.

“I won’t be ready to go on August 1, it will probably be later in the year and there will be a little bit of a gap between finishing and starting.
