Bells Line of Road will remain closed at this stage
BELLS LINE OF ROAD UPDATE
After approximately 16mm of rain fell on Bells Line of Road overnight, a minor tension crack has been identified above the road, east of Mt Tomah.
Transport for NSW has completed an assessment and has determined that it is not currently safe to reopen Bells Line of Road until further investigations are completed.
Teams are
working around the clock to assess the crack caused overnight and contain it where possible to prevent any further risk. Engineering specialist will again review the new damage tomorrow.
Given the instability of the slopes, a detailed management plan is in place to ensure safe operation of the road and the safety of motorists.
